Now, relatively to certain advices, as that before a new pipe turns on it should remain dunked in drink for some time and other similar things, are usefully only if we want to destroy our pipe. After the enjoyment of smoking, comes cleanness’s time.
Basic rule is that we never clean it when it’s heat. After it will get cold, we remove and clean the muzzle with the special detergents that are especially for this job, for the residues of the combustion of tobacco.
If the pipe has mobile filter, we simply change it. If it has metal filter we clean it with some alcohol’s help.
In order to clean the bowl, we never strike it, but we always use the special ashtrays with the cork. We take what remains of the tobacco using the spud. A neglect bowl, gives quickly bitter flavour, destroying all the perfume of tobacco and it smells bad even when the pipe is not turned on.
Bowls fast cleaning after each use removes the above danger. Apart from the regular cleaning of pipe, another basic point in its preservation is the abstraction of the coal from the internal walls of the bowl. From the first smoking, the bowl already begins to acquire layer of coal which is increasing by smoking.
In order to reverse it, we use the special knife that spuds have or a special cutter of cleaning, with a lot of attention, leaving always a layer of thickness, about half thousandth.
