1865: Don Eduardo Plasencia leaves the Canary Islands and goes to Vuelta Abajo, Cuba, to cultivate tobacco.
1965: Don Sixto moves his business to the fertile lands of Nicaragua.
1978: Due to political unrest, the Plasencia family moves to Honduras after disasters in their production.
1990: Keeping the farms in Honduras, the family returns to Nicaragua. It increases its production to 33 million cigars a year.
2000: 30 different brands trust Plasencia to produce their cigars.
2015: Plasencia became the largest tobacco grower in the world with more than 6,000 employees, 4 factories and 8 plantations in Honduras and Nicaragua, producing 40 million cigars annually.
2017: The Plasencia Cigars brand is introduced. Néstor Andrés, Gustavo and José Luis Plasencia presented the Alma series, Reserva Original and Cosecha 146 among others.
